Red Table Initiative

Gaston Cares is promoting heart health awareness by implementing the Red Table Initiative. When you see a red tablecloth at an event, it symbolizes food options that have less saturated fat, low or no sodium (salt), and more fiber. By participating in the Red Table Initiative, your organization can raise awareness about the importance of preventing heart disease, encourage better nutritional choices, and make positive organizational changes by adopting a healthy meals policy. All organizations and businesses are welcome to participate. Each organization participating in the Red Table Initiative will receive a Red Table Toolkit that includes the following items:

  • Red tablecloth

  • Red Table Initiative Certificate

  • Script to read at the beginning of the event.

  • Examples of healthy meals policies and additional resources
